In 1996, 66 JTA/JUA wagons were rebuilt with telescopic sliding hoods in British Steel livery for the transportation of steel coils. In 2003, their blue steel hoods were replaced with silver aluminium hoods and VTG logos applied to represent their new owner. An additional batch of 40 wagons were added to the fleet in 2007. These were classified as JSA-A.

In 1997, a similar rebuilding took place on 18 JTA/JUA wagons, also with telescopic sliding hoods but to a different design with a grey and green livery. These were classified as JSA-B.

In 2018/2019, 87 of the JSA-A variant had their aluminium hoods removed and more traditional open carriers fitted. These were classified as JSA-C.

All three of these variants are included in this pack with their respective liveries. Since introduction, they have spent their lives working out of South Wales with steel trains.
