Due to an update to Train Simulator Classic in May 2024, rain/snow showers are now unreliable in how they work. Sometimes they will activate, sometimes they won't. As a result, this part of the pack is now supplied on a 'no support' basis until Dovetail Games release an update to fix this.

New sky and sunlight colours. White sunlight at mid-day warms to an orange glow at sunset.

Realistic dark nights with subtle moonlight

Accurate sun angle and sunrise/sunset times depending on season (for the south of the United Kingdom)

New cloud visuals

Vastly improved mist which blends into the surrounding environment and is no longer unnaturally blue

Fog can now be used at night/dawn/dusk

A wide range of new weather patterns, many of which are dynamic and change within a scenario

Thunder and lightning weather patterns*

Improved rain and snow visuals

New weather compatible with Quick Drive

New 'Adaptive Bloom' shader to increase brightness, especially at night

Glass now appears more transparent at night as per reality - allowing train interiors to be seen more clearly from outside

A prototypical 50 minute scenario for the AP MML: London to Bedford Enhancement Pack which shows off the new thunderstorm and fork lightning functionality**

* Fork lightning is only visible in the included scenario and any scenarios we may produce that feature it. It can not be applied to your own scenarios. However, thunderstorms with just flashes of sheet lightning can be applied to your own scenarios.

** Due to the aforementioned update to Train Simulator Classic in May 2024, the weather in this scenario now works unreliably. Which routes does this pack apply to?

The improved mist/fog, new 'Adaptive Bloom' shader and more transparent glass at night will apply throughout the simulator. For everything else, this pack must be applied on a per-route basis. Please see below for a list of routes that are supported:
