What is an extra stock pack?

An extra stock pack is a collection of additional liveries which are required for the included scenarios or reskins to work properly. Each extra stock pack is individual to each of our products.

Can I use a different requirement than listed if it contains the same class of locomotive or unit?

No. You must own the exact pack that is listed on our website. If there is a choice of packs you can use, we shall list them.

Why do some of the scenarios require many packs to work?

We believe scenarios should represent the highest amount of realism possible in the game and as a result, we take pride in using the correct rolling stock where possible to create this experience. The alternative would be to have freight trains using the wrong wagons, or maybe seeing the same class of locomotive/unit over and over again, when in reality there would be variety. Seeing the wrong stock is an immersion killing moment and seeing a variety of high quality stock is the opposite. The reason we have spent years creating all of our packs is to get to this point where fewer and fewer compromises are required to create realistic scenarios. After all, the joy of trainspotting in real life is the variety of stock you see.

We recognise this means some of our scenarios will be out of reach for some people, especially our newer customers, but realism is our number one aim and at the same time, doing this rewards our most loyal customers who own most of our packs. There is still Quick Drive and the ability to make your own scenarios for those who still wish to use our packs outside of the included scenarios.
